That cheeky easter bunny

My daughter is getting very excited about Easter and the thought of getting some easter eggs (my daughter LOVES her chocolate).  So we had some fun doing Maths with our cheeky easter bunnies.  I told her the cheeky easter bunnies only wanted to collect easter eggs that matched their magic number (each easter bunny had a number on it).

I left a pile of half easter eggs all with numbers on

numbered easter eggsFor the easter eggs I used the – easter egg addition up to 20 activity cards (Classic package on Twinkl) I laminated mine as I am planning on using them quite a bit in the next couple of weeks.

I also had a pile of easter bunnies with numbers on.  I used the Numbered 0-31 easter bunnies (FREE from Twinkl) for this.  I printed mine 2 to a page.  For this activity we only used the bunnies up to 20.

My daughter choose a cheeky bunny and then she had to create the eggs for that bunny.

When she got a bit stuck she just wrote her number line out on a piece of paper and worked out what the missing number would be.

She also had a good attempt at doing the number 20 easter bunny.  I was very impressed with how many of the sums she remembered.  And we had a go at matching all the doubling easter eggs to their bunnies.

She really liked this idea of matching the easter eggs to their bunnies so we also made an easter themed number bond poster.

easter number bonds 20We used the same easter bunny from above but the eggs we used are from here – Easter egg number bonds to 20 (FREE on Twinkl).  I printed ours – 8 eggs on a page.

I also downloaded the basket from Twinkl – basket cut-out (Classic package on Twinkl).
